TBR Football can exclusively confirm what in particular Mohamed Salah “really appreciates” at Liverpool after signing his new contract.
Salah put months of speculation over his future to bed on Friday as Liverpool confirmed that he had committed his future to the club for another two years.
Salah has been a revelation at Liverpool, reaching legend status thanks to his 243 goals and 111 assists helping the Reds win seven major trophies.
Now, TBR Football has some more information about Salah’s new contract and the work done to get over the line.

Mohamed Salah appreciates work done by Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes
TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has revealed just how much work Richard Hughes has put in to get the Salah deal over the line, and how appreciative the player is.
Bailey said: “Salah really appreciates the work Richard Hughes has done in persuading FSG.
“These deals weren’t getting done without FSG, and Hughes really took the bull by the horns.
“He’s talked to them, persuaded them, talked a brilliant game – FSG have listened and taken heed.”
Bailey also confirmed that Salah’s contract includes an option that could see his Liverpool stay extend into a third year, along with a Ballon d’Or clause.
The Saudi Pro League’s stance on Mohamed Salah in wake of new Liverpool contract
Bailey previously revealed that there is an open offer on the table for Salah from the Saudi Pro League that is comparable to Cristiano Ronaldo’s deal.
Salah knows that a contract is waiting for him and the Pro League want the Liverpool winger to be the leading Muslim player in Saudi Arabia.
The Pro League see Salah as part of their project – it is just a question of when he arrives, not if.
In wake of Salah’s new contract, Bailey has said: “In terms of the Saudis, they never backed away because when Salah goes to Saudi – it’s a when, not an if – he’ll be the highest paid player in the league.
“Their intention is to make Salah the highest-paid player in the league, as he would become their poster boy. It could be in 2027, 2028 or beyond – they’ll be waiting for him.”
Bailey has also confirmed that Liverpool are still very much in pursuit of Alexander Isak and would like to pair the Newcastle United star up with Salah on the pitch.
