What Mikel Arteta has been doing behind the scenes to improve the atmosphere at Arsenal

If it wasn’t already, it’s become very obvious that Mikel Arteta has completely changed the atmosphere at Arsenal during his time at the club.

Perhaps Tuesday’s victory over FC Porto at the Emirates was the biggest testament to how far Arsenal have come under Arteta.

Not only because they progressed to the quarter-finals of the Champions League, but also just how united the whole club appeared.

The Arsenal fans played a huge part in the win, jeering so incredibly loudly during the penalty shootout, a deafening atmosphere for a Porto player to keep their head in.

And the scenes after Arsenal progressed were pretty special, a club unrecognisable from the ill-mood at the end of Unai Emery’s tenure, and even the start of Arteta’s for that matter.

That being said, the Daily Mail have now shared a report detailing how Arteta has taken the atmosphere at Arsenal to the next level of late.

The report explained just how entrenched the Arsenal boss has become in each and every decision that takes place behind the scenes.

According to this information, Arteta’s approach is all-encompassing, and he’s even been central to talks over how the layout of the club’s headquarters at London Colney should be.

The Spaniard is full of ideas and on how things should be done and his voice ultimately always prevails as the loudest.

There’s understandably a willingness to delegate among Arsenal’s senior staff, but Arteta’s approach with his ideas are very ‘all or nothing’.

Of course, this may alienate a few, that’s not an approach that will be enjoyed by all, but ultimately it’s bringing Arsenal success.

And given we are now 5 years into Arteta’s tenure, and he’s overseen 219 Arsenal games, you’d think everyone around him is now on board with his style by this stage.

Fortunately from an Arsenal fan point of view, it seems as if there are still plenty of years ahead of this productive relationship too – one that will soon hopefully begin to yield more trophies.

That being said, Thierry Henry has now been pointing out two opponents Arsenal need to avoid in tomorrow’s Champions League draw.
