Tottenham Hotspur have been in pursuit of Mathys Tel as they look to bring some attacking reinforcements on board.

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey recently confirmed that Tottenham and Bayern had verbally agreed a £60million deal for Tel.

And on Friday, Fabrizio Romano said Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy flew to Munich for face-to-face talks with Tel and his agent.

Now, Romano has provided a major update on the Tel saga which will come as a boost for the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United.

Fabrizio Romano says Mathys Tel has snubbed Tottenham

Romano has taken to X to say Tel’s current stance is to reject Tottenham’s proposal and that he has informed Spurs of his decision.

The transfer insider says Tel now won’t be joining Tottenham, barring any surprises, and other Premier League clubs are now on the case.

Who else is keen on Tel?

The likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Aston Villa have joined Spurs in holding talks over Tel in the last few days.

Better still, sources have confirmed to TBR Football that Tel is “excited” by the prospect of moving to the Premier League this month.

“He knows the Premier League well and is flattered by all the interest,” said the source.

“But he does not want to continue on the bench like at Bayern Munich, so he will chose his next club carefully.”

Chelsea were the first team to show interest some weeks ago when Bayern spoke to them about Christopher Nkunku.

However, Chelsea now accept that they are unlikely to be able to give him the guarantees they want in terms of game time.
