Luis Diaz has been linked with a move to FC Barcelona for some time, with the Liverpool winger on the radar for the Catalan giants.
The Colombia international has been eyed by the Camp Nou side throughout the summer, with Diaz tempted to leave Liverpool for Barcelona should Hansi Flick come through with an offer for the Premier League star.
Valued at £49m, Liverpool are seemingly open to letting Diaz leave for the right price, something Barcelona could struggle with massively given their infamous financial problems throughout the years.
And Liverpool are now doing something with Diaz to ensure that the forward stays put in Anfield.

Liverpool in contract talks with Diaz amid fresh Barcelona interest
According to journalist Pipe Sierra, Liverpool have opened talks with Diaz to renew his contract with Barcelona once again interested in the former FC Porto man, though the Reds are yet to reach anything concrete with the forward.
Sierra wrote: “The interest of Barcelona in Luis Diaz (27) is real. They reactivated their interest since last week. They want to make an offer, but they are looking for how with ‘financial engineering’. Liverpool have already had talks to renew his contract (which expires in 2027), but without anything concrete.”
With Diaz expected to start the upcoming Premier League season as Arne Slot’s no. 1 choice at left-wing, Liverpool tying the South American superstar down to a new contract is a smart decision from the Reds.
However, with Barcelona interested in signing Diaz once again, Liverpool need to be convincing in their talks with the Colombian forward, with the attacker too important a player to be allowed to leave this summer.

Reds need to get to work convincing Diaz to stay
Barcelona are one of the most desirable clubs in the world for any player, even those who are already at the top of the sport and playing for the likes of Liverpool in the Premier League.
And as a result, the Reds ned to get to work as soon as possible in trying to convince Diaz to stay at Anfield, with Liverpool aware that the pull of Barcelona will be tempting for the attacker.
Indeed, Diaz has established himself as a key player for Liverpool in the last 12 months, and the Colombian might know deep down that he is better off staying on Merseyside than heading to Catalonia with Barcelona.
