Leandro Trossard was the subject to late interest from Saudi Arabia this week.

The transfer window may have closed last Friday in Europe, but in Saudi Arabia, the window was open for a little bit longer.

A bid came in for Trossard this week, and while Arsenal rejected the offer, this was still an interesting turn of events.

Speaking on Inside Arsenal, Charles Watts has been discussing Trossard’s situation at Arsenal after this Saudi bid.

According to the journalist, Arsenal have made it very clear that Trossard is not for sale, while the player himself is said to be very happy at the club.

Leandro Trossard is happy at Arsenal

Watts shared what he knows about Trossard.

“Arsenal made it very clear I’m told to anyone in Saudi Arabia trying to do a cheeky move for Trossard. They were told very firmly that Trossard is not for sale,” Watts said.

“He stayed at Arsenal, and as far as I’m aware, Leandro Trossard is very very happy at Arsenal, not remotely interested in the Saudi Arabia move either. Yes he wants to be playing more and we saw the frustration in the celebration at Aston Villa, but he is happy at Arsenal, I’m absolutely told that is the case and Arsenal are very happy with him.”

Leandro Trossard needs to play more

Trossard may be happy with his role at Arsenal at the moment, but he could soon get annoyed if he doesn’t continue to start games.

Indeed, Tim Sherwood observed that Trossard was annoyed a few weeks ago with his celebration against Aston Villa.

“I’m not saying he should be screaming and shouting, but he needs to have a chat with Mikel and say ‘look gaffer, I deserve it now. I’m sure next weekend he starts.’ He’s annoyed, he’s obviously annoyed, but he’s shown it in the correct way there,” Sherwood said.

Trossard is way too good to be sitting on the bench for Arsenal, and he deserves a decent run in the team after getting his first start of the season against Brighton.
