Tottenham are through to the fourth round of the FA Cup after a win against Burnley on Friday.

Spurs may have won against the Clarets on Friday, but there are a few worries coming out of that game.

Ben Davies picked up an injury, while there is also a bit of a worry about Giovani Lo Celso after he was substituted.

It’s been noted that the midfielder may have picked up an injury against Burnley, but there is a positive update to share.

Speaking on The Tottenham Way Podcast, Marcus Buckland has shared what he saw Lo Celso doing after he was subbed off against Burnley, and he says that the Argentine simply sat on the bench and didn’t look in too much pain.

Lo Celso didn’t look in pain

Buckland shared what he noticed about Lo Celso.

“When Lo Celso went off I did see him sit down in the dugout area and he didn’t appear to be in too much pain, so hopefully it isn’t anything more than a little knock, and Bryan Gil had a few nice touches when he came on, but we all know that in physical terms I can’t see it working for him,” Buckland said.

Positive

This is a positive update, and, to be honest, Spurs need Lo Celso to be fit.

The Argentine was out of the picture for a long time in north London, but he’s becoming more and more important at Tottenham now, and he’ll be needed over the next few weeks.

With Pape Sarr and Yves Bissouma away at the African Cup of Nations and James Maddison out injured, Tottenham are seriously lacking depth in the midfield, and Lo Celso will be due a run in the team if he is fit.

As Buckland says, fingers crossed this is nothing more than just a knock.
