On a truly remarkable afternoon for Arsenal against West Ham United, Gabriel Magalhaes was one of five goalscorers.
To say that Mikel Arteta’s side made up for their poor finishing against West Ham at the Emirates seems something of an understatement.

Admittedly, David Moyes’ team were extremely poor today, but Arsenal’s fast start and finishing prompted that malaise.
Perhaps Declan Rice was the star of the show, alongside the likes of Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka.
But as often seems to be the case this season, Arsenal initially found their breakthrough via an expertly worked set-piece.
In truth, it wasn’t the most elaborate of Nicolas Jover or Arsenal’s repertoire which saw William Saliba head home.
But perhaps more specific instruction had taken place for Gabriel to score Arsenal’s fourth against West Ham.
Seen during Sky Sports’ coverage of the game, rather than heading straight for the box, Gabriel went to free-kick taker Rice, first.
The Brazilian whispered a message to Rice, and then headed home his delivery just moments later.
Gabriel Magalhaes was dominant for Arsenal against West Ham today
Whatever Gabriel said, clearly worked.
Rice delivered the ball to the near post for the centre-back to nod home with some ease, which was typical of the game.

Of course, Mikel Arteta will need to keep his Arsenal side humble after the huge win, he won’t want anyone getting carried away.
But perhaps the celebration police that were out in full force following the win over Liverpool, can cut Arsenal some slack here.
That being said, Declan Rice did remarkably well not to celebrate his effort given the beauty of the strike.
But typical of his character, the midfielder was restrained.
And perhaps once the dust settles from Arsenal’s win against West Ham, which Gabriel was instrumental in, Arteta will feel a title bid is firmly back up and running.
But perhaps Arsenal are still vulnerable to certain injuries, with both Saliba and Gabriel looking crucial.
However, with that in mind, one Arsenal target is now unhappy at his current club.
