What Chelsea players are now brutally saying about Arsenal after winning Club World Cup

Noni Madueke is on the verge of signing for Arsenal.

The England international underwent a medical with the Gunners on Monday ahead of his £52m move from Chelsea, having already agreed a five-year contract.

Noni Madueke actually chose to leave the United States early to speed up his switch to Arsenal, forgoing the chance to play in the FIFA Club World Cup final, which Chelsea surprisingly won after defeating PSG 3-0 in the final on Sunday.

The Londoner still receives a medal – having made five appearances at the competition – but Chelsea players are already using that as a way to mock the winger and Arsenal.

Chelsea players aim trophy jibe at Arsenal

The Daily Mail are now claiming that a new joke is swirling around the Chelsea camp after the win over PSG.

Players are allegedly saying that Madueke can show off his FIFA Club World Cup medal to his new Arsenal teammates, as they have never seen one themselves.

Kai Havertz – who is adored in N5 – is the only Arsenal player who can boast a FIFA Club World Cup medal, although that does little to help Arsenal bite back at Chelsea, as the Germany international won it in 2022 whilst playing for the Blues.

Arsenal need to respond as Mikel Arteta faces pivotal season

Arsenal have undoubtedly made progress under Mikel Arteta since he replaced Unai Emery in December 2019, but the 2025/26 campaign has to yield at least one trophy.

So far, the Spaniard only has one FA Cup to show for his efforts at the Emirates Stadium – a trophy haul even Crystal Palace can match in the same space of time.

Newcastle and Tottenham also won silverware last season with the Carabao Cup and UEFA Europa League respectively, so the pressure is now firmly on Arteta to deliver.

Arsenal are about to spend £64m on Viktor Gyokeres along with the £52m fee on Madueke – and £55.8m has already gone on Martin Zubimendi too – so Arteta will also not have the excuse of a lack of financial backing to fall upon.

With some signs of Arteta Out graffiti already emerging around N5 at the moment, next season needs to be a special one for the 43-year-old.
