Rangers started this season with hopes of securing silverware to make a dent in Celtic’s dominance of Scottish football.

They have not been able to do that but they have made improvements. And with the Bhoys’ managerial situation up in the air, the opportunity is there for them to kick on next season under Steven Gerrard.

Having a strong end to the season would be the best statement of intent they could make about next season, but how will their final four league matches go? We’ve had a look…

Rangers have struggled to get to grips with Aberdeen all season long and they need to get that sorted if they want to be a real force next season.

This match provides a perfect opportunity for the Gers to lay down a marker that they have finally got the measure of the Dons.

Another home match for Rangers should result in a victory, but the two sides drew last time out. Gerrard will know his side could do with getting a head of steam together ahead of the forthcoming engagement with Celtic.

This one has significance in terms of next season. Rangers will want to secure another victory over their bitter rivals, who may have one eye on the Scottish Cup final.

But Neil Lennon’s side won’t be backing down – especially after the hot-headed encounter last time around – and a share of the spoils looks the most likely.

Rangers struggled badly on their last league trip here and that’s another weakness Gerrard must ensure is corrected if a title push is to be on the cards next season.
