Newcastle have flirted with the relegation zone throughout the season but look very likely indeed to survive after beating Leicester 1-0 last Friday.
Now they can perhaps begin to start looking up the league and potentially finish a tricky season with a flourish in their final four games of the season?
But how will those games play out? We’ve taken a look…
Southampton (H) – Win
This could have been a relegation six-pointer earlier in the season but both sides have improved impressively through the middle part of the season.
The Saints are a tough side to beat but Newcastle on their own patch can be formidable and should fancy their chances of getting a win here.
Brighton (A) – Win
Former Toon manager Chris Hughton is struggling with Brighton right now, and the Seagulls have endured an alarming slump since the turn of the year.
And if Newcastle can keep organised they will frustrate the Amex Stadium and should get chances on the break to secure a second straight away win.
Liverpool (H) – Loss
Newcastle’s final home game of the season sees them host a Liverpool side who are still rampaging towards the title and that will make getting anything from the game so difficult.
Benitez will know how to make the game cagey but Liverpool are very good at picking the lock and know they have no margin for error.
Fulham (A) – Win
Fulham, managed by former Newcastle man Scott Parker and spearheaded by ex-Toon striker Alekandsar Mitrovic, have defended awfully for much of this season.
That should allow Newcastle to finish the campaign with an away win as they showcase the nous that means they should be a top flight team for another season while Fulham make an instant return to the Championship.
