Arsenal picked up a comfortable 4-0 win against Ipswich Town in the Premier League.

The Gunners were always the favourites to get the job done against Kieran McKenna’s side, and they did just that thanks to a brace from Leandro Trossard and a goal each from Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri.

The icing on the cake late in the game was Mikel Arteta giving Nathan Butler-Oyedeji his debut in the Premier League.

Arsenal fans loved seeing the academy graduate on the pitch, so much so that they even started singing for him in the away end.

What Arsenal fans were singing about Nathan Butler-Oyedeji

Butler-Oyedeji has been at Arsenal since he was just eight years old.

The attacker came through the ranks at the club’s academy and always impressed behind the scenes. His loan spells weren’t as successful as he would’ve liked, but he came back to the club and performed brilliantly again.

Earlier this season, Arteta brought Butler-Oyedeji on for his Champions League debut late in the game against Dinamo Zagreb.

The 22-year-old made his first Premier League appearance on Sunday against Ipswich, and Arsenal fans had two different songs for him.

The first was a standard “Duh, duh, duh, Butler-Oyedeji”, but the second one will make everyone smile.

The Athletic’s Art de Roche was at Portman Road, and he revealed that Arsenal fans at the away end were singing: “If Butler scores, we’re on the pitch!”

Butler-Oyedeji came really close to finding the net on his debut, but his shot was denied by Alex Palmer in Ipswich’s goal. It was a fine strike and a good save.

The latest on Nathan Butler-Oyedeji’s Arsenal future

Butler-Oyedeji has made his Premier League and Champions League debut this season and has been a regular in Arsenal training sessions.

But, his future likely lies away from the club.

TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey exclusively told Arsenal Insider that Butler-Oyedeji’s Arsenal contract will expire this summer.

Norwich City, who could be managed by Jack Wilshere, are interested in signing the talented Arsenal forward once the transfer window opens.

It remains to be seen if that move will go through.
