‘What are we doing’: Some Arsenal fans fume as club backtrack on transfer policy revealed by Romano

Arsenal are reportedly only keen on signing players who are 100% keen on joining the club this summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, the Gunners are eager to sign players ‘that are happy and 100% convinced by joining the club.’

This transfer policy is seemingly a smart one on the surface as it allows Mikel Arteta and Edu to waive through targets who have no interest in signing for the club.

Also reported by Fabrizio Romano, the Sassuolo midfielder is set on joining Juventus. However, Arsenal are willing to meet the price tag for the Italian international.

Moreover, the Gunners have been chasing Locatelli for the best part of the month. But, Locatelli is eager to make a move to Juventus, with the midfielder seemingly uninterested in a swap to the north London side.

Indeed, this has made Fabrizio Romano’s transfer claim about Arsenal a confusing one, and supporters on social media were fuming that the club were seemingly backtracking already.

Here’s what some fans had to say on Twitter about Arsenal going back on their ‘100% convinced’ signing policy…

Arsenal should next week confirm the signing of Albert Sambi Lokonga. With Ben White also close to joining the club this window from Brighton and Hove Albion.
