TBR Football can exclusively reveal that AC Milan have opened talks to sign Chelsea attacker Joao Felix on loan.

Felix was keen to join Aston Villa — with TBR Football confirming that the Portuguese international looked set to replace Emiliano Buendia — who has left Villa Park to sign for Bayer Leverkusen on loan.

However, the Italian giants have been interested in the 25-year-old for a while, with AC Milan having approached Chelsea to sign Felix once already.

Joao Felix has had a difficult time in a Chelsea shirt this season, starting just nine games in all competitions this campaign.

Sources have told TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey that AC Milan have re-ignited their pursuit for Felix as they look to sign more attackers this window — with Santiago Gimenez closing in on a move to the San Siro while Alvaro Morata is set to join Galatasaray on loan.

The discussion regarding any deal involving the the Portuguese international between both clubs is that while Milan wish to sign him on loan until the end of the season, Chelsea’s desire is for there to be an obligation-to-buy clause in the contract.

TBR Football understands that Felix, who Unai Emery loves as a player has he would be willing to accept a move to AC Milan on loan, as talks to sign him have re-opened.

Despite Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio set to join Aston Villa on loan, the versatile forward remains on Villa’s radar.

Joao Felix remains Unai Emery’s “dream target” at Aston Villa

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that despite the imminent rivals of the two forwards, Unai Emery’s “dream target” remains Felix.

Romano said on his official YouTube channel: “Unai Emery is now waiting for [Asensio] and Marcus Rashford but always with Joao Felix in their thoughts. The idea of Unai Emery remains Joao Felix, dream target despite signing Asensio and Rashford soon.”

Last July as well, Emery felt Felix was “perfect” for Aston Villa.

The former Sevilla boss is a huge admirer of the twinkle-toed technician but it seems like AC Milan is his next destination.
