Celtic did not have a game this weekend but there were still plenty of players to watch in international action, including Norway’s Kristoffer Ajer.
In the Euro 2020 qualifier against Spain, Ajer played at centre-back for the Norwegian national side. Partnering Fulham defender Havard Nordtveit, Ajer produced a fine display.
The 20-year-old was tasked with keeping the likes of Rodrigo, Marco Asensio and Alvaro Morata quiet, which is a difficult challenge.
But Ajer held his own and produced an impressive individual performance, despite losing 2-1. Rodrigo opened the scoring, Josh King equalised from the spot and Sergio Ramos’ penalty sealed victory for the hosts.

Ajer, who stands at 6ft 5in tall, has been converted from a central midfielder into a centre-half and is enjoying a run in the Celtic side.
It is easy to forget how young the Norway international is because of the experience he already has but if he can continue to improve, he could become a top defender.
With 33 games under his belt this season, Ajer is continuing to learn and develop his game. Here are some things Celtic fans said about his performance against Spain.
