What a stunned Alex Zinchenko said as he was walking off the pitch after making Arsenal debut
Arsenal have enjoyed a fruitful transfer window, making five signings so far this summer.
Oleksandr Zinchenko is the latest new arrival through the door at the Emirates Stadium.
He is the Gunners’ second summer acquisition from Manchester City, after Gabriel Jesus.
Both Zinchenko and Jesus have been reunited with Mikel Arteta, who coached them at the Etihad.
Though Arsenal haven’t had the same success as the Citizens in recent years, both players look thrilled to have made the move.
Zinchenko made his Gunners debut last Saturday, helping his new club beat Chelsea 4-0 in their pre-season friendly in Florida.
Playing at left-back, the 25-year-old was a valuable addition to the Arsenal attack.
He was given licence to support Gabriel Martinelli ahead of him and Granit Xhaka to his right, and sometimes behind.
Now, Arsenal have shared footage of Zinchenko’s reaction to the reception he got from the travelling fans in Orlando.
‘Oh my God, what a club,” he said. “Unbelievable! What a pleasure to be here! Come on Gunners!’
Arsenal fans will no doubt love Zinchenko’s enthusiasm and excitement in wake of his move to the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners have made some great signings this summer and it’ll be exciting to see how they fare as the new Premier League season kicks off.
Zinchenko will surely play a key role as Arsenal look to kick on from last term.
