Celtic are reportedly planning to snap up Bright Osayi-Samuel either on a bargain deal this summer or on a pre-contract agreement next year, according to the Scottish Sun.

The 22-year-old enjoyed a great season for Queens Park Rangers last time out, claiming five goals and nine assists from 37 English Championship appearances.

Osayi-Samuel, who reportedly has a £5million price tag, is out of contract next summer and, in terms of pre-contract agreements, can speak to clubs outside of England as of January.

The Scottish Sun claims that Parkhead boss Neil Lennon hopes a bargain deal can be struck in the current transfer window as he bids to strengthen his options on the flanks.

If it doesn’t work out, then the pre-contract agreement option has been mentioned by the outlet as a plan B.

Celtic head of recruitment and former QPR scout Gary Penrice – who helped bring Osayi-Samuel from Blackpool to London – is believed to be involved.

According to the outlet, he has recommended the winger to Lennon, knowing QPR could be willing to cash in rather than risk losing him for nothing next year.

Alongside impressive goal and assist stats, Osayi-Samuel’s pace and trickery has proven a major thorn in the side of many an opposition defence over the past year.

“He was outstanding and deserved the applause,” QPR boss Mark Warburton told the Kilburn Times after Osayi-Samuel inspired a 6-1 thrashing of Cardiff City in January.

“I’m not sure many teams have that blistering pace. As long as he knows how to use it and that’s the key for him learning the game.”

Here is what some QPR fans have made of the speculation regarding their player:
