'What a sight': Declan Rice reacts to what he has spotted in Arsenal training today

After an impressive win over Leeds United in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, Arsenal returned to training today and West Ham star Declan Rice has spotted something brilliant.

The Gunners confirmed a few weeks ago that Jack Wilshere has returned to the club to train and work on his coaching badges. He has been in and around the squad since, and he was involved in first-team training today.

The Englishman’s career has taken a big hit. After unsuccessful spells at West Ham United and Bournemouth, Wilshere has been without a club and he has gone through a lot over that period.

Mikel Arteta was asked about him in one of his press conferences and the Arsenal boss opened the door to help him. Wilshere took up that opportunity and it looks like he is loving every minute of it.

Declan Rice comments on Jack Wilshere’s Instagram post

The midfielder posted a few pictures of himself at London Colney today. He is seen kicking the ball in two clicks, while he’s snapped alongside Thomas Partey in the third one.

It really is good to see him with a smile on his face after everything he has been through over the last few months.

Declan Rice, like many fans, loved that sight, and he left a four-word comment under his ex-West Ham United teammate’s Instagram post.

“What a sight man,” Rice said, and we agree with him.

What next for Wilshere?

The midfielder is still looking for a club. Retirement did cross his mind at one point, but he’s still trying really hard to find a side that are willing to give him an opportunity at some point in the coming months.

Most Arsenal fans would love to see him in the famous red and white shirt again, but that’s unlikely. Arteta has all but ruled that out, and as much as Wilshere would like a chance at the Emirates, it doesn’t look like it’s possible.

It will be interesting to see if he can find a club soon. He is a free agent, which means that he can be signed outside of the transfer window, but if a club with a limited budget can’t land their target in January, Wilshere could well be an option for them.
