Southampton dominated against Everton today to bring Carlo Ancelotti’s men back down to earth with a considerable bump at St Mary’s.
Goals from Che Adams and James Ward-Prowse were enough for the Saints to see off the Toffees, and it could have been more as well for the team in red and white.
Everton were well below the levels they had set for themselves while Southampton were bang at it from the beginning for the full 90.

One of the best players on the day for Southampton was Danny Ings. The former Liverpool man not getting in and among the goals but laying on two assists for his team in an all-action display.
The performance didn’t go unnoticed from Saints fans on Twitter, either, with a number of supporters taking time out to sing the praises of Ings once again.
