Rangers supporters have praised youngster Stephen Kelly as Steven Gerrard’s side fell to a 1-0 loss to Tranmere Rovers.
The Scottish Premiership titleholders were beaten by the League Two side. A Rangers side that saw plenty of first-team players take to the pitch lose at Prenton Park.

Despite good chances from the likes of Cedric Itten and Ryan Kent, the Glasgow giants couldn’t get past Rovers. Yet whilst fans were unhappy by the overall performance of the squad, Kelly was one noticeable bright spot.
The 21-year-old shone in last week’s pre-season friendly against Partick Thistle. And Kelly once again impressed for Gerrard’s side this weekend.
The midfielder was tidy in possession and played numerous impressive passes into the Tranmere box and other dangerous areas.

Kelly spent last season on loan with Ross County. And Rangers fans on social media were impressed with what they saw from the 21-year-old yesterday against Tranmere.
There are rumours that Kelly could leave on loan for a third season in a row. With Rangers recently signing John Lundstrum, competition for the central midfield position will be tough, meaning the youngster could have to settle for another temporary move away from Ibrox.
Here’s what some Rangers fans had to say on Twitter about Kelly and his performance against Tranmere…
