A number of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to praise Toffees academy striker Tom Cannon following his impressive performance for Goodison Under-18s last night.
The Blues ran out 4-2 winners over Wigan in their FA Youth Cup third-round tie at Southport’s Pure Stadium.
Everton had to come from two down in the game, Harry McHugh and Sean McGurk netting for the Latics on 20 and 32 minutes.

Although Matthew Mallon halved the deficit in the 34th minute, Cannon failed to put away a penalty late in the first half.
Everton then equalised around the hour mark as Sean McAllister’s header was cleared off the line before Reece Welch slammed home the rebound.
The game went to extra time and Cannon made amends for his penalty miss with an extra-time brace.
For his first, the 18-year-old collected the ball on the left of the penalty area and curled beyond Owen Mooney.
Rafa Garcia was then brought down in the box for another Everton penalty, and Cannon made no mistake this time.
Cannon has been in great form for the Blues Under-18s this season, registering seven goals and three assists in 16 appearances.
The teenager, who recently penned his first professional contract, has also featured for Everton’s Under-23s eight times this season, and has made the bench a further three times.
Here is what some Evertonians made of Cannon’s display:
