'What a man': Fans laud Kalvin Phillips for what he did for Bukayo Saka
Footage of Leeds United and England midfielder Kalvin Phillips consoling Bukayo Saka has been doing the rounds on social media today.
The Leeds star was the first to run towards Saka, who heartbreakingly missed the crucial penalty which saw Italy crowned champions of Euro 2020.
But the penalty should not over shadow a stunning tournament from Saka overall. The 19-year-old emerged a shining light in the Three Lions team, bringing his fearless club form to the biggest stage.
Phillips, too was also brilliant in his work. The humble Leeds star showed he belonged, and his moment with Saka was not a surprise at all.
Fans of clubs from all around the country, then, have been reacting to the footage of Phillips.
It was a moment of class from a player who has oozed that class all tournament. Phillips knew Saka would want the ground to swallow him up, but he was right there to protect his teammate.
