Powell, who had been called in to work with the England squad over the tournament, stood with his arm around Saka for some time as Italy waiting to collect their medals.
And the Spurs coach has earned great praise for his actions on social media website Twitter.
Powell’s role at Spurs
Powell was actually working as assistant boss as Tottenham for a stage last season. but he will now work with the youngsters again following Nuno’s arrival.
His coaching skills are highly regarded, and it was clear to see his nurturing qualities at the weekend.
Much as been said about whether Saka should have been put in the position of taking the fifth penalty for England in the biggest game the country has played in 55 years.
But the Arsenal youngster should be praised for his courage, and the hope is that he will come back stronger from this set-back.
