A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to bemoan the fact Marcelo Bielsa missed out on February’s Championship Manager of the Month award.

Bielsa was in the running after steering the Whites out of what was becoming a worrying slump and into a winning streak complete with clean sheets which has proven the basis for a return to the top of the table.

Although Leeds began the month badly, with defeats to Wigan and Nottingham Forest, Bielsa then steered the Elland Road side to a valuable point away at Brentford, before claiming a 1-0 home win over Bristol City.

The Whites then registered the same scoreline against Reading and Middlesbrough before finishing the month in style with a 4-0 hammering of Hull on their own patch.

Bielsa was up against West Bromwich Albion’s Slaven Bilic, Wigan’s Paul Cook and Fulham’s Scott Parker for the award, and on Friday, it was confirmed that the Baggies boss had won it.

While some Leeds fans were pleased as the MOTM award has a reputation of being somewhat cursed, others weren’t happy their manager was snubbed.
