A number of Scottish football fans have had their say on the news that Glasgow Rangers and Celtic have been invited to enter teams into the Scottish Lowland Football League on a one-season basis.

The SLFL released a statement on Wednesday claiming that discussions between the league, the Ibrox outfit and the Parkhead side were at an early stage.

Talks came about following an approach to both teams to help to try to improve the player development pathway in Scotland as well as bringing the opportunity of “significant benefit” to the league’s clubs.

Discussions have been productive and will continue over the coming days, added the SLFL.

The board also stressed that no current member club would be “adversely affected in any way by the proposal” and clubs would have to vote in favour of any changes following consultation.

Nonetheless, a number of fans have made it clear they disagree with the proposals, believing no B team should be parachuted into another league.
