West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini must implore Marko Arnautovic to exploit Chelsea’s David Luiz on Sunday, if the Irons are to have any chance of getting points from the game.
The Blues are top of the Premier League and come to the London Stadium for the 1:30pm kick off.
Maurizio Sarri’s side are overwhelming favourites for the game, despite them having been in Europa League action on Thursday.
West Ham picked up their first win of the season against Everton last weekend.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side were excellent at Goodison Park.
The 3-1 reflected the steady improvements the side had been making in recent weeks, despite losing every game.
The Hammers will do well to follow that up with a victory over Chelsea though, but one area of weakness for the Blues is the defence; specifically, Luiz.
Arnautovic West Ham’s best hope
West Ham are currently assessing Arnautovic ahead of the clash and the club are hoping he’ll recover from his knock in time.
The Austria international has started the new season brightly and has three league goals to his name after five games.
He is consistently proving himself to be a menace to opposition defences.
He is, without doubt, going to be West Ham’s best chance of coming away with any points from this game.
Luiz does not deal well with forwards who are menaces.
The Brazilian is no longer the player he used to be at Stamford Bridge, and is always shaky when fast and aggressive players challenge him.
His positioning can also be suspect and Arnautovic being an intelligent player must try and exploit this.
