Report: The new price West Ham will consider to sell Declan Rice this summer

The rumour mill around Declan Rice never seems to go away and it almost seems inevitable that the midfielder will leave West Ham one day, as clubs like Chelsea, Man United, and more circle.

Given there has been so much on and off talk in the past about Rice’s future, there can be little point in mentioning each and every rumour. However, given Rice’s performance against Kidderminster this weekend for the Hammers, and David Moyes talking about his reported £100m price tag again, it seems prevalent to mention the latest on Rice.

According to 90Min this weekend, while the Hammers don’t particularly want to sell Rice, it is thought they’ll consider bids of around £120m for the midfield star. That is up from the amount mentioned last summer, which Moyes was discussing after the game.

“I said in the summer that I thought Declan Rice was £100m. That was the sales, that was cheap, that was your chance to get Declan Rice cheap,” the West Ham manager said.

Rice has become one of the outstanding players in English football in recent seasons. His performances in the Euros, too, cemented his position as one of Europe’s best.

TBR’s View: West Ham Could Cash In On Rice This Summer

It would be a real shame for the Hammers to lose Rice and he doesn’t show any indications of wanting to force any sort of move. However, should they miss out on the top four this term, then you would have to understand if Rice did want to move on.

He needs to challenge himself at the very highest level. That means Champions League football and playing against the elite, week in, week out.

£120m is a big price to ask from the Hammers. However, it’s also a fair one, given Man City forked out £100m on Jack Grealish last summer.
