West Ham United have recently been linked with a move for Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings but their chances of signing him could suddenly be over after what happened at the weekend.
Reports suggested today that West Ham are now considering a move for the ‘fantastic’ Mings after recent speculation over his future.
Mings was stripped of the captaincy by Steven Gerrard at Villa and dropped in last week’s Premier League opener against Bournemouth, which has led to doubts over his future.
But if David Moyes was planning to make a move for the centre-back, that could now be over after what happened to Diego Carlos on the weekend.

West Ham chances of signing Mings
Steven Gerrard suffered a huge blow on the weekend as Diego Carlos came off injured in the game against Everton and now the club have confirmed that he will be out for around six months.
Mings started alongside Carlos in Villa’s win against the Toffees on Saturday and was excellent, though there has still been doubts raised over his future at Villa Park.
Now Gerrard will probably be keen to keep hold of the 29-year-old after the recent injury news on Carlos.
The Villa boss brought in the Brazilian to bolster his backline this season but looks set to be without him for the majority of the campaign.

And now it seems unlikely that Gerrard would allow Mings to leave this summer after already losing a centre-back due to injury.
The English boss may have had doubts over the Villa centre-back but if Mings were to leave this summer, he would be considerably short in the position.
The Hammers have strengthened their backline this summer by signing Nayeuf Aguerd from Stade Rennais but they are seemingly in the market for another centre-back.
But if Moyes did have any chance of bringing Mings to East London, that could now be over after the long-term injury to Carlos.
