This weekend, The Sun is reporting that Arsenal are ready to try and sign the Boca Juniors striker Cristian Pavon. The report claims that the Argentine talent is valued at £40 million by the Buenos Aires club and that Arsenal boss Unai Emery sees him as a valuable addition to the club’s attack. With Danny Welbeck’s latest injury setback, it is easy to see why.
The report also makes it clear that Pavon is open to a move to London, mentioning Fulham as another interested party.
Which must have West Ham taking notice?
West Ham have been linked with Pavon before. In the summer, TEAMtalk reported that West Ham had made contact with the player’s entourage about a potential switch to the London Stadium.

With newly-appointed Argentine sporting director Mario Husillos now at the helm of West Ham, it certainly made sense to see Pavon linked with the Hammers.
West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini also has a brilliant track record of working with Argentine footballers. Sergio Aguero, Nicolas Otamendi and Juan Roman Riquelme, for example.
West Ham are currently in good form but still look short of one more striking option. Pavon is unlikely to cost the full £40 million so at a lower fee, West Ham would be right to gamble.
They should certainly rekindle any summer interest now that others in London are beginning to loiter.
