West Ham United have offloaded Javier Hernandez to Sevilla for £7.2 million (The Sun) ending his two-year stay with the Hammers, as confirmed by the club’s official website.
The Mexico international scored 17 goals in 63 games for the Hammers but fell down the pecking order under Manuel Pellegrini.
West Ham signed Sebastien Haller during the summer and he has taken well to English football. He has three goals from his first four games and Hernandez’s opportunities would be limited.

The 31-year-old actually scored in his last Premier League appearance for the club – a 1-1 draw with Brighton and Hove Albion.
Hernandez signed for West Ham from Bayer Leverkusen, costing the Premier League club £16 million (BBC Sport).
The one negative of West Ham allowing Hernandez to depart is the lack of firepower now in reserve.
Haller’s fitness could now be crucial to the Hammers having a successful season during 2019/20 and it remains to be seen if they will rue letting the former Manchester United man leave.

Following the announcement that Hernandez has left the London Stadium, supporters have taken to Twitter to have their say.
