West Ham United hopeful of signing ‘dangerous’ player as he seems very open to joining

Julen Lopetegui has been one lucky man at West Ham United this summer, as the owners continue to deliver in the transfer window.

West Ham are almost into double figures for transfers and they don’t appear to be finishing anytime soon, with many different rumours floating around at the London Stadium.

Eddie Nketiah and Tammy Abraham are being weighed up by the Hammers as they move on from their pursuit of Jhon Duran, which led them astray for so long.

However, it appears if the London club are turning their attention towards another attacking midfielder, with rumours that Carlos Soler has agreed a move to West Ham.

And, there may just be an exciting update involving the Spaniard…

West Ham encouraged by what they’re hearing from Carlos Soler with talks ongoing

Talks have been going on for quite a while now but things are starting to look a bit more promising, as Dharmesh Sheth provides an update.

Tim Steidten and Lopetegui have been pushing to sign Soler in recent days and the fact that the outlook still looks positive will please West Ham fans.

Soler’s days are clearly numbered at Paris Saint-Germain having been left out of their most recent match against Montpellier on Friday, but the Hammers won’t be getting ahead of themselves after the Duran saga.

Where does Soler fit in at West Ham?

Soler, who has been hailed as ‘even more dangerous than the strikers’ by Jaime Fernandez Valencia of scouting outlet Breaking The Lines, can add versatility to that Lopetegui’s midfield with the ability to play in the middle of midfield, in an attacking midfield role or out on the right.

However, with the likes of Lucas Paqueta, Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen nailing down starting spots as the three players behind the striker, it looks as if Soler will only be able to force his way into a potential starting position in the middle of midfield.

Afterall, James Ward-Prowse and Tomas Soucek’s futures remain uncertain, as they’ve supposedly been made available, so there may be a void to fill anyway.

The only worry about Soler would be his lack of Premier League experience, mixed with the fact he was in and out of the side last season. Although, to be fair to him, he did still manage to score twice and assist four in 1277 minutes, and he even played at right-back and left-back at times.
