West Ham United are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham before Friday’s deadline – and Hammers fans have reacted to the link on Twitter, urging the east Londoners to sign him.

French outlet Foot Mercato claimed West Ham were in advanced talks with Celtic over a move to sign the 23-year-old, who was won the Scottish Premiership title twice with the Hoops. He also boasts 18 France Under-21 caps.

The Hammers are believed to be interested in signing a central midfielder, to go along with new recruit Tomas Soucek. Ntcham scored the first of Celtic’s three goals on Wednesday as they beat St. Johnstone away from home.

However, after the match, Ntcham stated he is happy at Celtic while Neil Lennon was quoted by the Record as saying there is no chance the former Manchester City star would be leaving Parkhead: “As far as I’m concerned, he’s not going anywhere.”

Ntcham has shone since joining Celtic in the summer of 2017 from Manchester City. In just two and a half seasons, the former Genoa loanee has played 117 times for The Bhoys, scoring 21 goals and creating another 11 strikes.

The Scottish Sun claimed in the summer of 2018 that Porto wanted to sign Ntcham for £15million, but a move never materialised and now West Ham fans are desperate to see their club move for Ntcham – despite Lennon’s comments.
