Dimitri Payet was one of the most technically gifted players West Ham United have had at the club in recent years.

The player joined from Marseille in 2015 going on to score 11 memorable goals during his 48 appearances for the club.

The Frenchman only spent two years at the Hammers, however, before departing to rejoin Marseille for £25 million, according to Sky Sports.

It was something of an acrimonious departure with the West Ham faithful left feeling somewhat sour over the ordeal.

Nonetheless, he did score some memorable goals with his time at the club.

One of those stunning strikes came during a FA Cup draw at Old Trafford when he scored a fantastic free-kick to put the Hammers in front.

That particular goal was tweeted out by West Ham’s official account yesterday and it got fans reminiscing about Payet.

Naturally, some of the comments were somewhat cynical of Payet but in large, the chance to see the goal again was welcomed.

The majority, however, appreciated the quality of the man and enjoyed seeing the goal again.

Following yesterday’s tweet, we looked at the best comments regarding Payet from the club’s official Twitter account.
