‘Superb’: West Ham fans rave about Declan Rice in Bournemouth draw

West Ham United sit third in the Premier League following Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

Goals from Andriy Yarmolenko and Aaron Cresswell earned the Hammers a share of the spoils from an entertaining contest.

Manuel Pellegrini needed a big result after the midweek Carabao Cup embarrassment at the hands of Oxford United.

It was a big performance from his side against Eddie Howe’s men who had been hoping to win their third consecutive game.

Several members of the West Ham team earned rave reviews but once again Declan Rice showed exactly why he is rated so highly by his club.

On Saturday he had a 93% pass accuracy, completed 18 ball recoveries and six interceptions, much to the delight of the West Ham faithful.

Rice signed a new contract worth £30,000-a-week back in December (The Sun) and it is clear to see why the Premier League’s big-boys continue to monitor him.

He is comfortably one of West Ham’s most important players and makes protecting the back four look completely effortless on a frequent basis.
