Reports this week are suggesting West Ham United are interested in a deal for Sevilla’s Franco Vazquez in January. Tutto Mercato Web is reporting that West Ham are ready to press ahead with an approach for the player in the coming weeks, after failing with a similar move in the summer.
In July, West Ham’s sporting director Mario Husillos was told by Sevilla that he would have to spend £35 million to sign the playmaker, as reported by Estadio Deportivo.
Considering they were set to spend big on Felipe Anderson, a move was simply not affordable in the summer.

But this is not the first time that West Ham have been keen on the player. Way before Husillos and Manuel Pellegrini, they made a move for the player.
In 2016, Vazquez was playing in Italy with Palermo. Italian paper Il Sole 24 Ore reported West Ham made a move for the player, along with Spurs and West Brom. a fee of £19.6 million was mooted for the player, who had made two caps for Italy during his time at Palermo.
However, Sevilla ended up getting their hands on the player for a much-reduced fee of just £12.5 million.
Now, over two years later, West Ham may have to pay double the price if they want the newly-capped Argentine international in their ranks.
