Celta Vigo attacker Maxi Gomez is a reported target for West Ham, as they line up potential replacements for talisman Marko Arnautovic.
According to Sky Sports, the Hammers are lining up the 22-year-old to fill the shoes of Arnautovic if he completes a move to the Chinese Super League amid interest.
The report details that West Ham held talks with Spanish club Celta Vigo in the summer before being priced out of a move for Gomez, but selling one of their star players would give them additional funds.
Chinese club Shanghai SIPG are yet to return with an improved bid for Arnautovic since a £35million offer was rejected, but the player remains keen on exiting the London Stadium.
Gomez would be a great alternative for Manuel Pellegrini’s side and they should go all out to sign him if they need a new centre-forward.

Gomez is a highly-rated young talent in La Liga and the South American is making quite a name for himself.
The Uruguay international has nine goals and five assists in just 18 Celta Vigo games this season, while he managed a return of 19 in the league during the last campaign.
He’s proven to be a clinical finisher in the box and is a great threat in the air, something which could make him a success in the Premier League.
West Ham would have a potentially new-look frightening attack further down the line if he joined, with a South American core running through it.
They already have Brazilian left-winger Felipe Anderson dazzling in wide areas, while creative Argentinian playmaker Manuel Lanzini is still to come back into the fold from a long-term injury.
