Sheffield United’s John Fleck is a target for West Ham that has appeared late in the January transfer window.
According to Sky Sports, the Hammers held talks with the Championship club about the midfielder over a potential £4million deal.
The Sun in its print edition (29 January, Page 52), claims that Sheffield United rejected a £4million offer and Manuel Pellegrini’s side have now launched a second bid.
Fleck is certainly not a household name, but would be a brilliant under the radar addition for West Ham if they can secure a raid for him this month.
The left-footed ace will be extremely familiar to audiences of the Championship and there is a strong case to argue he’s one of the outstanding midfielders in the division.

Fleck is currently a key component of a Sheffield United team that are competing for promotion this season and are third in the league table.
The 27-year-old is a central midfielder renowned for being a pass master and his all-action approach also means he can put his foot in too for a challenge.
He is Scottish ace that definitely has the technical qualities to make the step up to the Premier League and would provide West Ham with some much-needed competition in the centre of the park.
Fleck would bring some extra steel to the Hammers team and he could push captain Mark Noble for his spot if he settled quickly, but it’s understandable that Sheffield United don’t want to lose such a key player.
