West Ham are reportedly interested in signing midfielder Javi Garcia in January from Spanish club Real Betis.
According to the Sun, the Hammers could try get him on loan for the rest of the season, but the player would be more keen on a permanent switch.
Manuel Pellegrini previously worked with the Spanish enforcer at Manchester City and is keen on a reunion now at the London Stadium.
Betis signed Garcia for just £1.3million (AS) in 2017 and surely West Ham could snap him up on a bargain deal.
But Pellegrini should rip up January plans to sign him, as it’s unlikely he could make a significant impact.

Garcia is a defensive midfielder that has been a solid performer during his career and played at a high level, but has been on the decline in recent years.
The 31-year-old is now in a position where he’s made just 11 appearances across all competitions for Betis this season and just keeps it tidy on the ball.
West Ham already have the likes of Declan Rice and Mark Noble to protect the back in a deeper midfield role, which is why it’s hard to see where Garcia could bring much to the table.
