West Ham supporters react as club could reportedly make Christian Eriksen offer

West Ham United are reportedly lining up a shock move to bring Inter Milan midfielder Christian Eriksen to the London Stadium in January as the Danish playmaker continues to struggle under Antonio Conte – and Hammers fans have responded.

Eriksen, 28, left Tottenham Hotspur – West Ham’s biggest rivals – in January after seven years and more than 300 appearances for the North London club to join Inter. But under ex-Chelsea boss Conte, things have not gone to plan.

Eriksen has been used 36 times since joining but has scored only four goals for the Italian side. Now, he is already being linked with a return to the Premier League – with Arsenal and Tottenham linked with a move for the 103-time Denmark star.

Now, Eurosport claim West Ham are lining up a surprise move for the £17million (Goal) set-piece specialist ahead of the January window. A potential loan move for the £260,000-a-week (Guardian) star could materialise in the next few weeks.

The Hammers have been doing well under David Moyes, using a 3-4-3 system that has seen them remain solid at the back but more than exciting going forward. Even without Michail Antonio, Seb Haller has come in and impressed.

Eriksen is naturally a number 10, in the same bracket as Mesut Ozil – capable of magic, but not particularly hard working. Though he does not seem a natural fit for Moyes’ West Ham, many Hammers fans have reacted on Twitter.
