West Ham recorded a thrilling 5-3 win over German side Hertha Berlin on Wednesday in a pre-season match – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter picked out substitute Michail Antonio for praise.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side showed their attacking flair with five goals and they could be a force to be reckoned with when the Premier League season starts.

Pablo Fornals, Manuel Lanzini, Sebastien Haller, Grady Diangana and Antonio chipped in with goals for the Hammers.

There is still room to improve defensively, but they were without first-choice goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski against Hertha.

A selection of supporters went wild for Antonio’s individual display and believe he’s in top form right now.

Antonio came off the bench with a lively 30-minute cameo and overcame a suspected injury knock to score a fifth goal for his side.

The 29-year-old is a versatile ace that will slot in anywhere on the pitch if asked, but is a right-winger by trade and worked the channels well on Wednesday with his pace and dribbling.

The Sun have previously reported that Crystal Palace are potentially keen on a deal for Antonio, but that West Ham are determined to keep him.

Some Hammers fans have made it clear they want the powerhouse in their squad for the upcoming campaign and were thrilled with his latest outing.
