West Ham striker Albian Ajeti could be an £8million bargain

West Ham’s summer transfer business has certainly raised a few eyebrows and they have a group of players that should be pushing to break into the Premier League’s top six.

Sebastien Haller and Pablo Fornals are marquee additions at the London Stadium, but they have had six new faces join in total.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side managed to complete a deal on Thursday’s deadline for Albian Ajeti from FC Basel.

The Hammers signed the attacker for £8million (BBC) and he’s now linked up with his new teammates ahead of the start of the campaign this weekend.

Ajeti looks like he could be a potential bargain this summer, especially as £8million is a relatively low fee in today’s market.

Ajeti scored 21 goals in 43 games across all competitions last season for Swiss outfit Basel.

The 22-year-old striker is someone that has proven he’s got real composure in front of goal and is decent in the air too.

He is a Switzerland international that has arrived in English football to try make a name for himself and he looks a great investment.

The centre-forward may have an upper hand on some of his teammates right now in terms of fitness, as he’s already played three competitive games with Basel this campaign and scored two goals.

Ajeti is a different option to Haller and Javier Hernandez in attack, and he could turn out to be a bargain if he replicates his Swiss form in the Premier League.
