West Ham United star Michail Antonio has sent a warning to London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Instagram as the attacker has returned to full fitness and is ready to take on Spurs – after missing the last nine league games.
Antonio, 29, made substitute appearances during the first three league games for Manuel Pellegrini’s side. But he has since missed the last nine, with a thigh injury preventing the £7million (Mirror) signing from playing since August.
The Hammers need some inspiration after failing to win in their last seven games, failing to keep a clean sheet in those matches and conceding a whopping 17 goals. Now, they welcome Tottenham and new manager Jose Mourinho.
Antonio posted a somewhat jokey message on Instagram with the use of the VAR screens at the London Stadium – confirming that he has returned from injury and can play against Spurs, and sending a warning by claiming “the beast is back”.
West Ham are not without their injury woes. Antonio looks set to return, but Lukasz Fabianski and Manuel Lanzini will definitely miss the match. But Jack Wilshere and Mark Noble have been confirmed as fit to face Spurs.
Mourinho, meanwhile, will be without goalkeepers Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm. Tanguy Ndombele and Jan Vertonghen are doubts and are expected to be assessed before Saturday lunchtime’s clash.
