West Ham attacker Manuel Lanzini has sent a message to Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa on Instagram, claiming it was “a pleasure” to chat with him on Friday night.
Leeds suffered a 2-1 home defeat at Elland Road against West Ham, as the visitors came from behind to earn three points in the Premier League fixture.
Despite Mateusz Klich putting the Whites in front within the opening six minutes, David Moyes’ side responded with headed goals from Tomas Soucek and Angelo Ogbonna.
Argentine Lanzini, who was an unused substitute for West Ham last night, did post on social media after a post-match conversation with compatriot Bielsa.
Bielsa is such a well respected figure within the game that it’s no surprise to hear Lanzini’s comments, with plenty of managers showing him huge mutual respect already this season.
But perhaps Bielsa is under a bit of pressure going into the next Leeds game, not in terms of his job, rather the desperation to try get three points.
His team have suffered four defeat now in six Premier League games and are threatening to derail what was such a blistering start to the season following a return to the top-flight.
They host Newcastle United on Wednesday evening, which looks like the biggest game of the season so far for them to try build some momentum again.
