West Ham United winger Felipe Anderson has taken to Instagram to provide an update on his condition, after limping out against Manchester City on Saturday.
The Brazilian was forced from the field after the hour mark with what seemed to be a thigh issue after a heavy challenge.
The Brazilian said of the incident, as quoted by football.london: “I picked up a small injury. I tried to get back in, but I think it’s good that I didn’t because we’re just starting and I have all the rest of the season to play.”
Judging from the player’s post to his Instagram Story, it looks as though there hasn’t been any lasting damage.
The former Lazio ace – who earns £85,000-a-week (Spotrac) – uploaded a photo of himself on an exercise bike, indicating he will likely be involved in some way against Brighton.
Anderson’s update will be a relief for West Ham fans, who know he is key for their side.
Having lost heavily against City, it will be important for the Hammers to bounce back against Brighton, who impressively disposed of Watford 3-0 in their first game.
Along with Pablo Fornals and Manuel Lanzini, Anderson has the ability to create chances and score goals himself, so his availability on Saturday will be most welcome.
