West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing Espanyol midfielder Carlos Sanchez this summer.
Sport claim the Londoners and Internazionale actually both made moves for the Spaniard in January but both were unsuccessful.
The clubs were informed by Espanyol that the player was not for sale unless his £35 million release clause was met.

Roca, a 22-year-old holding midfielder, has been in great form for the Catalan side this term and has featured in 23 matches this season.
He has been drawing attention to himself with some classy displays, and there’s a good chance he’ll be coveted this summer.
Were West Ham to sign him, then it could mean the end of the line for a forgotten first-teamer.
Roca would spell the end for Sanchez
If West Ham return for Roca in the summer, then it would arguably end Carlos Sanchez’s stint at the London Stadium.
The Colombian sustained a knee ligament injury back in September against Macclesfield Town, for which he required surgery.

He has been out ever since and one has to wonder if he will be able to come back from such a serious injury at the age of 33.
There has been no indication that he will return early to play again this season.
If West Ham signed Roca, then it might be in their best interests to take a hit on Sanchez in the summer.

Roca is significantly younger and fitter than Sanchez and plays the exact same role as a defensive shield.
Theoretically, Roca would start alongside Declan Rice with Mark Noble, Pedro Obiang and the returning Edimilson Fernandes to serve as cover.
