West Ham should sell Masuaku if they can win race for left-back Koutris

West Ham are ready to battle a host of Premier League clubs this summer for the signing of Olympiakos left-back Leonardo Koutris, according to TeamTalk.

They claim that the Greek international is the subject of interest from the London Stadium, as well as Everton, Newcastle United and Leicester City as a top flight race heats up.

Olympiakos reportedly want a fee in the region of £5m for the defender, and are confident of getting it because of the wealth of interest in his services.

The quartet are reportedly tracking his progress during the current international break and it cannot be ruled out that Italian outfit Genoa will come back with a summer swoop after failing with a £5m bid in January.

If West Ham can get Koutris, he wouldn’t be the first left-back that they’ve procured from Olympiakos. That’s where they got Arthur Masuaku from back in the days of Slaven Bilic.

The Congolese defender, who Spotrac claim earns £40,000 a week, is Aaron Cresswell’s understudy now, but has become something of a defensive liability these days.

He clearly prefers to play on the wing, but lacks the creativity of Felipe Anderson, and that means that if Manuel Pellegrini can secure an upgrade this summer, he should offload Masuaku as soon as possible.
