According to AS, Real Madrid have received offers from Monaco and Roma for Mariano Diaz.
The 25-year-old only re-joined the Spanish giants last summer, but it is clear that he has no future at the Bernabeu. The striker only managed 13 La Liga appearances, and scored just three goals.
This summer, the Dominican forward should leave the capital club behind for good. Before he can join either Monaco or Roma though, West Ham United would be wise to enter the race for his signature.
Despite having signed Sebastien Haller earlier this summer, the Hammers could still do with bolstering their frontline further. Having lost Marko Arnautovic, the Irons lack attacking strength in depth.
Mariano would provide great competition for Haller and Javier Hernandez. What’s more, the Real Madrid man would arrive at the London Stadium desperate to prove his quality and to make up for his lost time in Madrid.
When it comes to boosting his striking options, Manuel Pellegrini should look no further than Mariano. The forward is available on the market and could likely be captured for a fee within West Ham’s budget. They must not hesitate to hijack the deal away from Monaco and Roma.
If Mariano could get back to his best then he’d be a brilliant addition for the Irons. During the 17/18 campaign, the forward scored 21-goals for Lyon. If he could reproduce that form in the Premier League then he could help West Ham to reach new heights.
