Manuel Pellegrini currently has a plethora of attacking talent at his disposal in the West Ham squad and competition for places is fierce.

Felipe Anderson, Robert Snodgrass, Michail Antonio and Grady Diangana are all vying for a spot in the wide areas, while Andriy Yarmolenko was also in contention before his injury.

That means it’s going to be extremely difficult for any more wingers to emerge through their ranks in the immediate future and that is why the Hammers should act over rising star Nathan Holland.

West Ham attacker Holland is currently playing with the club’s Under-23s side, but did feature in the first team in the EFL Cup win over Bolton off the bench.

The 20-year-old is a left-winger with bags of potential and may be at a time where he needs regular senior football.

He is an English wide player with great skill and trickery, but his path into the senior set-up right now at the London Stadium is difficult.

Pellegrini should consider sending him out on loan in the January transfer window to another club, where he can help develop his game and return to West Ham more of a finished article.

Holland caught the eye in pre-season for West Ham on tour and a successful loan stint could definitely catapult him into Pellegrini’s thinking, with the potential reward of his improvement immense.
