This summer West Ham tried and failed, to sign Yacine Brahimi. According to Sky Sports the club had agreed on a fee with Porto, but personal terms could not be met. The deal was said to have fallen apart due to Brahimi’s desire to ‘play for titles’ at Porto, according to O Jogo, as relayed by Sport Witness.
However, the Algerian was said to be keen on an eventual move to English football and it appears West Ham are still keen on the player.
O Jogo is reporting that West Ham are hoping to initiate contact with the player over a potential Bosman transfer in the summer.

Considering that, according to Zero Zero, he had a release clause of €60 (£52.7) million last year and was not going to go for less than £22 million, a Bosman deal looks like a bargain.
But West Ham must avoid this deal.
Brahimi is exactly the sort of player fans at West Ham do not want to see. The Algerian international turns 29 in February and has hardly pulled up roots in Portuguese football for the past three seasons.
Another winger, a position West Ham currently look well covered in, this is a player on the downward path of his career, rather than the up.
He would also command a massive wage and signing on fee, which West Ham should use to ensure their exciting young talents remain and to bring in younger, hungrier, individuals.
Give Brahimi a wide berth West Ham, he is simply not what the club needs.
