The Sun believe that Slaven Bilic is keen to sell flop Arthur Masuaku after just one season at the club. They state that the left-back’s poor displays and the return of Aaron Cresswell mean that he is no longer needed. However, Olympiakos have first refusal on the Frenchman but would not be prepared to pay anywhere near what they received for him only months ago.
Meanwhile, French outlet madeinfoot state that the Hammers are in the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Fode Ballo-Toure. The highly rated 20-year-old’s contract is set to expire and could move on having caught the eye of a number of top clubs with his performances in the UEFA Youth League.
West Ham are also believed to be one of three Premier League clubs, alongside Leicester and Everton, to be tracking Ludogorets winger Jonathan Cafu. The Daily Mail claim that the Brazilian is available for around £12 million, with Leicester having made contact over a move in January but not pursued it.
The 25-year-old can play anywhere along the front line but usually plays on the right wing. Impressing in the Champions League with the Bulgarian side, Cafu has scored 12 goals and made seven assists in 30 games so far this season, understandably catching the eye of clubs across Europe.
After manager Slaven Bilic and his assistant were handed £8,000 fines for their conduct on the touchline against West Brom, Karren Brady has hit out as she wrote in her column in the Sun:
“IT WAS inevitable Slaven Bilic would get an improper conduct charge after his Saturday touchline tantrum. Sure enough it comes today [Monday] and it will be no surprise at all when the West Ham manager accepts it, plus the £8,000 fine that goes with it. A lesson learnt and one I doubt will be repeated… Data shows refs are getting more wrong this season than last. Time to have a word with the Professional Game Match Officials Board!”
Given that replays and video footage show that referee Michael Oliver got all of the big calls correct in the draw against the Baggies, it seems a bizarre move by the businesswoman.
