The Daily Record report that Bayern Munich are considering a £30 million bid for the West Ham’s January transfer target Moussa Dembele. The Celtic sensation was subject to interest from the club and Chelsea in the mid-season window, but Bayern could now seek to make him theirs in the summer.
It’s not yet clear if the club are considering making a renewed effort to sign the French youngster, who Celtic signed for just £500,000 only last summer, but with Bayern now interested, he may be pushed out of their price range.
An alternative could be Real Sociedad striker Willian Jose, who Calciomercato claim is attracting attention from West Ham. The 25-year-old has scored 11 goals in 26 for the Basque club this season and has become a key figure for the side after failing to take up a key role in the side previously.
The Brazilian has also been linked with a return to the international scene, despite never having made an appearance for the senior international team, and could soon follow that with a move to London if these reports are accurate.
One signing that the club made in the summer is Andre Ayew, who was a club record signing from Swansea. However, the Ghanaian suffered an injury on his debut and is still trying to return to full fitness as he told the club’s official website:
“It was very frustrating the start I had here. I think when you come, you have good intentions and want to help the squad. Then you get a really bad injury, and even when I got back I still had some pains and I was playing through the pains. I was out for two months or maybe three. I knew if I didn’t get injured again, the pain would go and now I’m much, much better and I can help West Ham.”
The team are currently out in Dubai on a training camp as they seek to capitalise on the lack of a match this weekend, with Ayew seeking to get fully fit with the extra training.
